Dr. Laura Rice, the director of the DPQoL lab, and her graduate student Sahel Moein presented the findings of their research at the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) Summit and Expo in Orlando, Florida, on August 17, 2023. Their platform presentation concentrated on risk factors associated with fear of falling and fall-related injuries among individuals who are dependent on wheelchairs and scooters due to various health conditions. The audience, comprised of clinicians working with populations using wheelchairs and scooters, gained practical insights from the lab’s research findings, potentially enhancing their clinical approaches to improve fall prevention education.
